This is the message versus megaphone problem. Democrats spend 99 percent of their time worrying about what they should say and only 1 percent figuring out how to get people to hear what they are saying.

And it is my contention, as I write about in the book, that that is a product of a decades long effort from right wing Republican political operatives like Roger Ailes and Steve Bannon, funded by billionaires like Rupert Murdoch and the Mercers to create this. I call it the mega megaphone.

I lay out how the right wing build up this megaphone, how it works. I think most Democrats do not understand. They sort of think Fox is bad. They don't understand how powerful Facebook is and just how prevalent mega extremist messaging is on it.

If we can get beyond some of the optical things that got Twitter obsessed, like Michael Luddick's very deliberate speaking style. I mean, what was very notable here, and you had to really dig through some pretty esoteric conversations about specific provisions of the 12th Amendment, the Electoral Counts Act, but was the fact that Donald Trump and John Eastman both knew that what they were proposing was illegal and unconstitutional and dishonest, and they were doing it anyway.
