When I wrote the book, I even told my editor, I said, you know, there's a lot in there about Comey because that was a defining moment for myself and many others. ... There's an entire chapter about James Comey because that was the moment that it changed.

Now, I want to ask you about a whole bunch of Christmas traditions, but first, just because of the title of your book, why do we kiss under mistletoe?

Now, Michael, would you want to briefly tell us about your most recent book, Abstaining with the Saints?

My most recent book, which just came out a couple of months ago, just in time for dry January, is Abstaining with the Saints, No and Low Alcoholic Beverages for Sober Souls.

This is a densely researched book that tracks the most powerful men on the planet, the key players among the 25 men whose companies now account for some $10trillion in wealth.

First, let's start with the name of the book, since it really captures its premise, Controligarchs.

Before we jump in, I just want to mention how much I loved the Netflix adaptation, and I'm currently loving the book.

The real tragedy, as I came to learn over the course of my reporting for The Times and sketched out in Painkiller, Purdue hid and covered up all the information it was learning and gathering about the drug's growing abuse.

There's a central character in my book. My book is set in Western Virginia, a small town there, and there's a doctor who kind of is becoming increasingly concerned about the addiction of teenagers and misuse of these drugs by young people in his town.

I was one of the founders along with Lenore Scanese was another of the founders. She wrote the book Free Range Kids.

In his new book, Dr. Scott Atlas, who served on the COVID19 task force under President Trump, makes some concerning claims about the government's handling of the pandemic, including allegations that Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx intentionally misled the American public.

Again, these are claims from his new book, A Plague Upon Our House, which outlines his time with the administration.
