She really puts herself in these positions, so all of her, the medical stuff, all of the criminal stuff is all very, very true to life. She makes sure she gets everything accurate, which I appreciate.
So in the summer of 1993, when she was beginning to write this novel, she contacted Dr. Bass to ask about decomposition.
So she came to him to ask about decomp because she had a decomposing corpse in her story.
And then they gave her the full research at the end. In return, this is when she told him that she was naming the book The Body Farm. He said, quote, you could have knocked me over with a feather.
