I want to I want to read you this Baraka Obama have you seen this Baraka Obama think from bed rose book no this is a spicy hot tip but I actually think it's pretty profound yeah Trump is for a lot of white people what OJ is acquittal was for a lot of black folks you know what's wrong but it feels good and the reason that I think that that's uh there's there's something profound there it's a good hot tip it's a good hot tip and the reason I think it's profound is this the facts can be presented to you whatever they are but it all depends on whether you trust the institutions that produce the facts that's right and if you don't trust the la pd for completely rational reasons that's right the la pd could say he's dead to rights and you just say I don't believe you because you're the la pd and and if you don't if you don't trust if you are in the maga world and you think like I just don't trust the institutions you're saying right like every like the facts we talk about them are all mediated by some side of institutions and you either trust them or you don't if you don't those facts are they're not facts so I think the the reason it isn't excellent hot take is that you want that individual to win not because of that individual not something about them that makes them your guy because who's the coming for them it's who's coming for them that is the enemy and so there was for a lot for a lot of black folks think about the context around OJ put OJ aside from what we didn't even know about the I'm not black on OJ stuff we didn't know we had rejected the civil rights movement until that documentary came out at all men's did we didn't know about it we didn't know about that fact then what we knew is this is a black man who was investigated by a clearly racist cop remember the word N word came from the OJ trial because you couldn't say on that's right Mark Furman and of course the over and over Mark Furman and who was the la pd detective who was one of the people who was deployed they're just correct people don't remember that that's right he was right with a history and had written like a screenplay or something about guerrillas in the mist correct and so we saw that we saw the brilliant Johnny Cochrane if the glove don't fit you must acquit and he outlawyered these prosecutors you saw Barry Shek forensic evidence this long CSI and all these interesting forensic evidence his lawyers were better the case they made was stronger right he got off and it wasn't about OJ it was about that system that he defeated.
