Episode: GIFTED DANCER, 22, FOUND DEAD IN BURNING CAR: WHO...
The author, a forensic pathologist, stated that even though the car was burned, there is still a possibility for investigators to find fingerprints from the soot found on the inside of the car. This implies that the investigation is far from over, and there is still hope of finding the killer.
Nancy, it takes a lot, a lot harder than a vehicle fire can usually get.
One thing that we've also found though, is if that car was driven there by someone else, the soot and the interior side of that car can actually still yield fingerprints.
If they touch that rear view mirror, that soot can act like fingerprint powder. And there may have been fingerprints on the rear view mirror or on the seat lever that moved it up or down.
So there's still a lot to be done in this investigation.
