He said he went through a terrible time of depression years ago and the only way he got out of it was he sat down, believe it or not, with the book of Hosea.
He sat down with the book of Hosea in the Old Testament and every day he spent about an hour studying the thing in the original Hebrew, dry as dust, no feeling, no sense of God's presence, but every day he said, I wrestled with the text and what the meaning of the text was.
And he says slowly over a period of about a month, he found himself pulling out of it.
