South Dakota Governor Christine Noem, who's in the running to be Donald Trump's running mate, is issuing a correction for her upcoming memoir. As South Dakota public broadcasters Lee Strubeger reports, Noem claimed in initial copies of the book that she met North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un during her time in Congress.
Christine Noem's new autobiography, No Going Back, is set to come out on Tuesday, but it's now heading back to publishers to revise a section where Noem claims to have met Kim Jong-un.
On CBS's Face the Nation Sunday morning, Noem said the inclusion was a mistake and shouldn't have been in the book; she made sure it was adjusted. This is the second controversy for Noem springing from her yet-to-be-released memoir, with another anecdote about shooting and killing her hunting dog drawing bipartisan criticism.
