If anything, you know, my entire purpose of this book at least was, look, this process is a continuous process of renewal. It's not a destination that one reaches.

I was not a board or director at Microsoft.

When I took over our fledgling cloud business in 2011, analysts estimated cloud revenues were already multi-billions of dollars with Amazon in the lead and Microsoft nowhere to be seen.

Amazon was leading a revolution and we had not even mustered our troops.

I don't think Google would have existed but for the PC browser. Microsoft enabled Google to build a toolbar for our Internet Explorer.

I joined Microsoft in 1992 because I wanted to work for a company filled with people who believed they were on a mission to change the world. But after years of outdistancing all our competitors, something was changing and not for the better. Innovation was being replaced by bureaucracy.

Teamwork was being replaced by internal politics, and we were falling behind.

He wrote a book that I mean to be honest wasn't a great book Most books by CEOs aren't great books, but I know this book. It was like fresh restart.
