At the end of Peter's memoir he discussed his death and what his funeral wishes would be. He stated, quite often I entertain the thoughts about dying.
As a young child I would have liked to have been a martyr. As a young man I thought about dying as a freedom fighter or a soldier. As a father I thought about dying in some kind of service for the family. Now that I'm old and worn out I hope to experience a peaceful death at home.
My hope is that in dying I will be able to have my family around me and that for my loved ones it will be a positive experience. I would like to be coherent and in my right mind until the end so that I have a chance to prepare myself.
