Origin A Genetic History of the Americas

University of Kansas Associate Professor Jennifer Raff published Origin, a genetic history of the Americas in which she argued that there are no neat divisions between physically or genetically male or female individuals.

And this event has been a subject of deep fascination and controversy. No written records and scant archaeological evidence exists to tell us what happened or how it took place. But this book does a remarkable job of guessing about exactly that, how it happened and who these people were and what they did and how we know this which is itself a fascinating subject.

I saw the paper and I saw the photo of these footprints and it was just it just hit me in the face I was like wow I almost started crying and that's kind of embarrassing to say but you know I really did I was just I was so shocked by how visceral I felt about these photo these footprints how incredibly recent they were this this connection to the past it was so tangible
