And then they made her wear a used pad over and over again.
And she smelled so bad that the counselors brought her in and scolded her for not taking care of her hygiene.
And this is clearly not in the book. But anybody who reads it, who has any kind of logic understands this poor young woman in this book, genderqueer, was made to do her business outside by her parents.
When she went to school and was going through puberty, they gave her used dirty old pads.
