I just finished Mariah Carey's memoir, so I've just been in Mariah Carey's canon. The book is amazing. Five stars out of five. So, so good. So powerful. Never been done before.

It read like a modern day Toni Morrison book. It read like something so like to borrow a phrase from Asia O'Hara, like etched in sorrow.

You see Michaela Angela Davis's name on the cover and you're like, okay, she's being very upfront about having a ghost writer. Good for her. But from the beginning, you read that you read this book and you're like, okay, there's so much raw detail here in specific detail here that it could only have come from her.

Reading this was very, it actually was very emotional for me.

It's passionately written and written with care and detail and research into her own family history. I mean, this is a labor of love. You can tell.

The book was highly anticipated, and Mariah seemed very happy with the way it was received. The early years of her life and her marriage to Tommy Mottola were described as harrowing and crazy.

And right now I'm holding up The Meaning of Mariah Carey, which is the highly anticipated book by the one true queen, Mariah.

And she should. I am well into the audio book right now, which I'm reading, which I'm listening to rather while I'm reading it, which gives an amazing- Full immersion.

And we can say that next week we are going to have a culture catch up and this culture catch up is going to be a little bit different. We are having The Meaning of Mariah Carey book club.

So everyone out there who has not yet picked up the book or who has picked up the book but is sort of leisurely reading it, understand next week we're going to be doing a close read, a discussion on the book.

And then right now I'm on the glitter chapters, which are something else. And I'm also, as I'm reading the book, I'm sort of revisiting the music and God, I have to say Mariah Carey is the culture that made me say culture was for me.
