this is why we wrote the sibling perspective book um the sensational super sandy because Asia was not understanding how is he not speaking to me you're giving him all of this attention what about me what about me hi I'm here I am the baby I need the attention I need you to pay more attention to me yours we're I'm sitting in doctor's appointment I'm sitting in a speech pathology office I have to be sitting outside waiting for you to finish we're going from OT speech music therapy everything revolves around Trey and I had to sit down and explain to Asia that we love you we're doing this for your benefit long term I don't want Trey to be your responsibility so I'm doing it because I want to make sure you're able to be independent god forbid anything happens to mommy and daddy Trey will be okay so we're running to all these services and she couldn't understand it so I said to my husband said you got to write another book because there's so many other parents whose siblings are sitting there angry at their parents angry at the siblings and we we did an interview the other day and someone talked about that that their sibling up to now they're older now and the sibling was so upset because the parents was so focused on their special need and their disability that they don't really even speak I never wanted my children to have that type of relationship I wanted her to understand that she was amazing that she is awesome she's important to us we're doing this because of her
