This is what the first half of my book is about so like I when we see all these crazy things like we just describe it as like oh our culture's in chaos or We're watching critical race theory and trans Ideology being indoctrinated into our kids and i'm like, okay. Why is this all happening at the same time?

Tell us a little bit about this book, why you wanted to write it and why it's so important, especially right now.

This book started as a question that I think a lot of parents actually had the same question that I had during COVID when we saw this increase in attacks on our children.

I see what's happening before our very eyes. I see the capture of our institutions. I see the degradation of the fabric of ordered society and I don't want that for my daughter.

The left is actually waging a deliberate and relentless assault on our children. This is not hyperbole. This is not bombastic. This has been going on for the last century.

If the left successfully captures children, our nation is done.

Wokeness is just a rebranding of Freire's critical consciousness.

If we don't acknowledge the reality of the political enemy that we're facing, we'll lose.

So what I did in this book is I traced the origin of the word woke back to a Brazilian Marxist by the name of Paulo Freire who contended that in the education system, when teachers impart knowledge, they're not imparting reality or truth or fact. They are instead just indoctrinating children with the prevailing political narrative.

A lot of people when they think of Marxism, think of Karl Marx, the communist manifesto, this economic Marxism, where the working class is supposed to be discontented with capitalism. They're supposed to overthrow the ruling class and thus usher in communism or Marxism.

when I dived into the research for this book, what I found is that Karl Marxist version of Marxism kind of went out of fashion. He had envisioned a global Marxist revolution, and it didn't happen. It never really came to fruition.

So if you look at what's happening in our country today, we're seeing all of these things. The media has captured the education systems, just indoctrination. Sadly, religious institutions have been corrupted. The law, I mean, Black Lives Matter is doing their best to destroy that. And the nuclear family is under constant assault.

So the word woke or the idea of wokeness, we're pretty familiar with that. We've said it a lot. We've heard it a lot in the last year. A lot of conservatives aren't necessarily able to define it.
