It was written because of fears that eventually manifested during the impeachment trial. The author discussed the book multiple times and encouraged listeners to pre-order it, as part of the proceeds go to a verified action to help Stacey Abrams' effort.
We are two and a half weeks out from the release of Untrumping America and I've gotten the latest pre-order numbers and we're feeling good, but we have a lot of work to do to get to win the bet with the publisher.
And I do feel very passionately about this book and I've probably never felt as passionately about it as I have this week, as I've watched what the Republicans are doing in the impeachment trial, sort of what the fears that led me to write this book are sort of manifest right now.
And I always encourage people to, if they are generous enough and kind enough to purchase a book of which the portion of the proceeds could have verified action to share it on social media.
And that is, that does make me feel much better. I have to tell you how much nicer it is to open up Twitter and see people saying they bought my book, then yelling about something terrible.
I'm hitting the road after the book comes out. I'm going to do, um, a 17 stop tour for the book and it's going to start on February 19th in New York city.

I worked really hard on this book and I want people to read it, but also I am in a competitive battle with my publisher who has told me approximately 1,000 times that I will not pre-sell as many books as I sold last time because second books are harder, which makes no sense to me.
